WHAT IS A TYPICAL TREATMENT LIKE?

A typical treatment will last around 40+ minutes depending on the combination of treatments utilized. A New Patient visit 60+ minutes which includes a Consultation and Trial Treatment.

IS TREATMENT PAINFUL?

No, our manual therapies and techniques are both gentle and effective making it a welcome CRPS pain management experience. Scrambler Pain Therapy (Calmare) and the other cutting edge technologies in our office offer a unique approach to treatment without the use of prescription medications, aggressive procedures, or surgeries.

ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS TO TREATMENT?

The most common contraindications for a CRPS/RSD patient are: spinal cord stimulators, pacemakers, and anticonvulsant medications. If you or a loved one currently has a listed contraindication it should be discussed with the doctor prior to treatment.

DO I NEED TO STOP MY MEDICATIONS PRIOR TO TREATMENT?

For best results, it is suggested that CRPS/RSD patients speak with their treating physicians about the medications they are currently taking. This would include anticonvulsants (Gabapentin, Lyrica, etc.), as they may have an unfavorable effect on the outcome of their treatment.

HOW DO I KNOW IF SCRAMBLER PAIN THERAPY WOULD WORK FOR ME?

It is common for a Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) patient to have a favorable response after just one treatment. Based on the outcome of the initial Trial Treatment, a recommended treatment plan will be discussed.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL CRPS TREATMENT PLAN?

The average treatment frequency is 5 times per week for 2 weeks. Although it is not uncommon for treatments to continue up to 1month if needed. Remember no two CRPS patients are the same, this may change the approach to treatment and the therapies used to maximize CRPS/RSD pain relief.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL FROM MY MEDICAL DOCTOR?

No doctor referral is needed.

IS TREATMENT COVERED BY MY INSURANCE?

Insurance does not cover treatment in our office. Therefore it is patient responsibility. Our office will provide the patient with a cash receipt upon request. Patients on their own accord may choose to submit that receipt to their insurance company with hopes of reimbursement.
